Question 1

What is Launchpad Studio?

Accepted Answer

Launchpad Studio is a one-person technical services studio run by senior engineer Mehran Rafiee, for solo founders, startups, and small teams. We do focused, project-based engagements: launch-readiness audits for AI-built apps, technical assessments, AI integration, custom workflow automation, and full-stack product work.

Question 2

Do you work with apps built with AI coding tools like Lovable, Bolt, or Cursor?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We work with founders who built their product with Lovable, Bolt, Cursor, Replit, v0, or Claude Code. Our launch-readiness audit checks an AI-built app for exposed secrets, missing access checks, open databases, and fragile payments before real users arrive, and we can fix what we find or build on top of it.

Question 3

Who do you work with?

Accepted Answer

We work best with early-stage startups, solo founders, and small engineering teams at companies with 1–50 people. Our sweet spot is founders who are technical but time-constrained, or non-technical founders who need a trusted technical partner.

Question 4

How long does a typical engagement take?

Accepted Answer

Technical assessments take 1–2 weeks. Startup packages take 2–4 weeks. Custom workflows and AI integrations are scoped individually, usually 2–6 weeks. We don't do open-ended retainers. Every engagement has a defined end.

Question 5

How does pricing work?

Accepted Answer

Every engagement starts with a scoping conversation. We then send a written proposal with a fixed price, clear deliverables, and a timeline. You know exactly what you're getting and what it costs before we start.

Question 6

What are your payment terms?

Accepted Answer

We typically invoice 50% upfront and 50% on delivery. For larger projects we can split into milestones. We accept bank transfers and major card payment processors.

Question 7

Do you sign NDAs?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We're happy to sign your NDA before the scoping call if needed. Confidentiality is standard for us.

Question 8

What technologies do you work with?

Accepted Answer

Our core stack is TypeScript/Node.js, Python, Next.js, React, PostgreSQL, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Vercel). For AI, we work with OpenAI, Anthropic, open-source LLMs, LangChain, and vector databases. We'll work in your existing stack where possible.

Question 9

Who owns the code?

Accepted Answer

You do. All code we write as part of a paid engagement is yours. Full IP transfer on delivery.

Question 10

How do you communicate during a project?

Accepted Answer

We're async-first. We use Slack (or your preferred tool), daily written updates, and a shared doc for decisions and status. We do synchronous calls only when they're clearly the fastest path: kickoffs, blockers, and final handoffs.

Question 11

Can you work with our existing codebase?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Most of our engagements involve existing code. We review what you have, work within your conventions, and improve things incrementally rather than rewriting everything.

Question 12

Do you do ongoing work after the engagement ends?

Accepted Answer

We include a post-delivery support window (typically 2 weeks) in every engagement. For ongoing needs, we can discuss a follow-on project. We don't do open-ended monthly retainers.

Question 13

What if I'm not sure what I need?

Accepted Answer

Book a free 30-minute call. We'll ask the right questions and help you figure out what kind of engagement makes sense for your situation, or tell you honestly if we're not the right fit.
